clare caldwellChris graduated from Anglia University, Cambridge, in 1990 with a degree in Environmental Science and subsequently took an MSc in Mining Geology at Camborne School of Mines. He became a Fellow of the Geological Society in 1996.

He has worked as a miner at South Crofty tin mine and then as Mine Geologist before closure of that operation. He moved to a position with a local drilling company and then Production Manager for Goonvean Ltd in charge of a china clay quarry and concrete block plant.

 

He joined Cornwall Consultants in May 2007 in the search department, but has carried out many mining activity site investigations and helped with concrete testing work.

He has an active family life and enjoys golf, squash and all aspects of Cornish mining history.
